Elect Al Sizer for Ward 8

In the 2010 municipal election, I finished second to the late Fabio Belli. When it was decided there would be a competition to appoint a replacement for the seat on Council for ward 8, I applied and was successful in being appointed to replace Mr. Belli. The appointment came based on my credentials that clearly indicated I was the most qualified candidate to be an effective representative for Ward 8.

This community is so important to me and I have spent my entire career working to serve the citizens of this city. I have been active in many community organizations in my adult life, giving of my free time to make our great city better.

This City truly has many attributes and we must capitalize on those assets to improve our current status. Community volunteerism, our lakes, our natural resources are all attributes we should be engaging to promote our great city. To borrow a phrase from our Economic Development Corporation – we are a “Resourceful City”.

In order to attain these goals, we need a Council that is cooperative and pulls in the same direction for the betterment of the City; to provide that environment, we need members of Council who are not afraid to lead, to work with other council members, to embrace other council members positions and points of view in order to be an effective efficient government. Listening to citizens of the City and hearing what is important to them is a very big part of the process. With those types of input, Council we be better equipped to make important decisions on what direction this city is going.

This won’t be an easy task – tough decisions will have to be made for the betterment of all Sudbury. But I am encouraged! I do believe the citizens will have the opportunity to elect a very dynamic cooperative council bringing positive results to the community. I am the candidate who will help accomplish these goals.

Thank -you

Al Sizer
